Our Promise To You...

We pledge to keep your data anonymous and our product data as accurate, up to date and complete as possible. We have designed our recommendation engine to be unbiased - all recommendations are based on your answers and not any agreements with manufacturers or their selling partners. In this way you can trust us to keep your best interests in mind as we make recommendations. We do not attempt to sell you anything.

How do I get started?

When you select an Advisor, you will see question buttons covering various product features and attributes. Pressing a button will allow you to rate your preferences for these features. Once you have rated your preferences for at least one product feature, you can receive a list of product recommendations by pressing the Recommendations button.

Do I have to answer every question?

No, you can get a recommendation at any time after answering at least one question. However, the more questions you answer about things that are important to you, the more relevant to your needs the recommended products are likely to be.

What makes this site different and useful?

How can the recommendations be truly unbiased?

The product data used at MyProductAdvisor.com is either gathered directly by our staff from websites and manufacturers or purchased from third party suppliers. In this way, we do not show any favoritism to any product or manufacturer. The processing system that delivers your recommendations starts with "base level" information aggregated across thousands of users. This "base level" information plus your individual inputs determine your customized recommendations from the product universe.

What technology is used to formulate recommendations?

The processing system used in MyProductAdvisor.com is based on a branch of mathematics called Bayesian inference. It combines the stated preferences of previous users of the advisor with your specific preferences and priorities to find the best products for you.
